Goodwill Hunting and Value Village Treasures!
May 3, 2008
Sometimes I just have these great days. Today I hung out with my wife and we did a bunch of her errands. Then she asked if I wanted to go to Goodwill and Value Village to look at furniture. I ended up walking out with four books and a CD for under $10. What did I get? Check out my nerdiness:
The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway
Blue Like Jazz (.69 cents!!!) I’ll probably give it away to the one christian who hasn’t read it.
Walt Whitman’s Selected Poems
Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals by Immanuel Kant
and Tonic’s CD Lemon Parade (they sing the song “if you could only see the way she loves me…)
All in all, it was a great day indeed.
And then your day got even better…”do you know what i love about wine?” Sorry, I never let you finish that statement. I was too busy laughing. You should blog about what you love about wine. Happy Month, brown kid.
Funny, my wife and I spend probably 10-20 hours a week in a mission related thrift store helping out and I am always amazed at what comes in.
My last really cool find was a fender guitar for about $50, and all it needed was a new set of strings.
I have been wanting to get that book “blue like jazz” but just never taken the time to order it… Wow $0.69… you can’t go wrong. My wife and I love the Good Will too… but no Value Village around here!
Scott – You have to spend a lot of time in order to find those kind of treasures! I like to go on fridays, but i only look at books and CD’s.
Kevin – You should buy it no matter the price. It’s an interesting look at spirituality.
